Case Studies

Lichfield Development

The photograph to the right hand side shows the prestigious Bryant Homes / Taylor Woodrow development at “The Crescent” in Lichfield. We were very proud to be involved with this exciting development, we supplied this site with false chimneys, traditional flat gauge arches and various brick specials. The photograph taken from the nearby road roundabout shows what an impressive building this is.

False chimneys used on the apartment at The Crescent

Chimneys At Lichfield

The false chimneys supplied to “The Crescent” were manufactured to a specific size and design to suit the local planning authority and Taylor Woodrow design.

As you can see from the photograph on the left hand side the chimneys featured a traditional mortar haunched top, with two separate two course projecting corbel detail.

A segmental arch

Segmental Arch

The arch photograph to the right shows a segmental arch type, incorporating a reconstituted stone centre keystone detail. This arch had to be a structural with a 328mm underside faced soffit, whilst still maintaining its lightweight properties.

The arch was used on the walk through areas of the development and had to be faced on both sides.

Traditional flat gauge arch

Traditional Flat Gauge Arch

The photograph on the left is a fine example of a prefabricated lightweight structural flat gauge arch, which is faced on the underside soffit, to replicate a traditional flat arch.

The design of this arch was stipulated by the local planning authority and was fabricated using the Premier Cutting Build Lite arch system.
